It is not the most fantastic technology, but the aim of Aranea is to see to it that technology helps to realise the operational targets as optimally as possible. We can formulate this better: the aim of Aranea is to apply technology that will raise the level of the operational targets, to apply the (announced) technology as a motive for formulating targets and to look ahead. According to our point of view, the power of innovation must be decisive in choosing a technological concept and selecting technical products. What do you want to change of improve? What should be possible in the future what is not possible now?

But how do you do this? In the end it must be clear what the infrastructure has to offer from a functional and technical viewpoint and what is required for this. Hardware and software… requirements, wishes, specifications… they are all important, but only at a later stage. It primarily involves applying business requirements to a conceptual infrastructure design. A blueprint as a solution that is based on previous architecture choices or which (re)defines these choices.

A change usually implies investing and incurring changing operational costs. As soon as a solution is known, a business-case with a realistic cost-benefit analysis must confirm that the chosen route is correct and feasible. If applicable, sourcing or making use of cloud technology and services should also be considered. In this respect we would like to make use of our self-developed ‘Monetary Method’, with which it is possible to base choices on technological effectiveness, CAPEX and OPEX.
