In recent years Information Management (IM) has played an increasingly prominent role in the question-and-answer game between ‘the business’ and the Department of Information Technology. We think that recent developments such as ‘cloud computing’ and various issues in the field of sourcing will only further reinforce this role. Aranea has already supported its clients for some time in organising the relation between the business and IT as efficiently as possible. This is also why we developed our own ‘BIM+’ model.

The BIM+-model is a framework that is based on the enneahedral model of Prof. Rik Maes, which we will use to make an adequate and effective analysis of the position and role that IM plays within an organisation. With BIM+ we are able to quickly explain what the role of everyone is within the broad IM playing field and what role everyone should be. BIM+ is extremely suitable to be applied as a means of communication in talks and discussions between ‘the business’ and the IT department.

Als vervolg op het BIM+-model zijn we op dit moment druk doende een business simulation game op het vlak van Information Management te ontwikkelen. Deze game, waarin zowel BiSL als het 9-vlaks-model een prominente rol spelen, heeft tot doel om awareness te creëren bij betrokken partijen om zo de IM-rol nog effectiever en efficiënter in te kunnen richten.
